H.E. President Roberta Metsola
Roberta Metsola is the President of the European Parliament, having been elected in January 2022, becoming the youngest ever person to occupy this role. In July 2024, she was re-elected to lead the institution for another term, as only the second person and first woman to serve as President for two terms.
Leading the only directly elected European institution, President Metsola has been very vocal and firm in Europe’s support to Ukraine, following Russia’s brutal invasion. On 1st April 2022, she became the first President of an institution of the European Union to visit Ukraine since the start of the war. As President of the European Parliament, she has led reforms towards a Parliament, which is more modern, efficient and accountable. -
Past Rotary International President Ravi Ravindran
K.R. Ravi Ravindran was the President of Rotary International in 2015-16 and was the Chair of the Rotary Foundation in 2020-21. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Apart from his well appreciated leadership skills in those roles and his business leadership, Ravi was also responsible for negotiating a ceasefire between the Tamil Tigers and the forces of the Sri Lankan Government to enable the vaccination of children again polio.

H.E. Ambassador Dott. Fabrizio Romano
Ambassador Romano is a career diplomat and is currently the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Malta.
He is a former Italian Ambassador to Ukraine, and the former Head of the Crisis Unit of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as former Ambassador to Georgia. Ambassador Romano had also held the post of First Secretary in Italy’s Embassy in Moscow.

H.E. Ambassador Vanessa Frazier
Ambassador Frazier serves as Malta’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, where she currently represents Malta on the UN Security Council.
She held the position of President of the UN Security Council in February 2023 and was re-elected to the role in April 2024. During her presidency, she guided the Council's deliberations on a range of international issues, notably the situation in Israel and Gaza. Under her leadership, the Security Council engaged in extensive discussions regarding the Middle East, and is widely thought to have played a pivotal role in directing its focus toward urgent matters in the region during a crucial time.

DG Giuseppe Pitari
Giuseppe Pitari is the District Governor of Rotary District 2110, Sicily and Malta for the period 24/25.
Following management experience with large industrial groups such as ENI and ERG, in 2014 he founded Vera Salus Ricerca, a company operating in the field of Biomedical Research applied to the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and agri-food sectors, of which he is the CEO.
He was a member of the Rotaract Augusta Club from 1985 to 1993, and has been a member of the Augusta Rotary Club since 1994, presiding the club 2004/5 and 2016/17.

Rev Dr Jean Gové
Rev Dr Jean Gové is a Research Affiliate at the AI & Humanity Lab at the University of Hong Kong. His current research is primarily focused on questions relating to cognition and consciousness in AI.
He is also engaged in exploring certain ethical aspects of AI tools, such as AI manipulation, and wider transhumanist issues.
Fr Gové is the Diocesan Coordinator for AI-related activity for the Archdiocese of Malta.
He currently occupies a number of advisory roles and is the Coordinator of the European AI Research Group within the Vatican’s Dicastery for Culture and Education.

Matthew Caruana Galizia
Matthew Caruana Galizia is an investigative journalist and director of the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation, an organization named after his mother, the renowned Maltese journalist who was assassinated for her reporting on corruption.
He previously worked at the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), where he played a crucial role in developing the technology that facilitated major investigations such as the 'Panama Papers' and 'Paradise Papers'.
His work focuses on defending press freedom, fighting corruption, and ensuring justice and accountability.
In January 2020 Matthew was presented with the Young Global Leader Award by the World Economic Forum and the European Young Leader Award by the Friends of Europe.

Richard Knowlton
Richard Knowlton is a former career diplomat who specialises in advising on the management of complex geopolitical and corporate risk issues at ministerial level and with the Boards and Executive Committees of large organisations.
Richard has an extensive network in international business, governments, academia and multinational organisations, and is an experienced lecturer on all aspects of international risk management and development issues.
Richard has served in many countries in which Leading for Peace was an essential component for success.

David Attard
Retired Colonel David Attard was the Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of Malta between March 2010 and July 2013.
During this time he was involved in the implementation of the national migration policy and responsible for Maltese peace missions overseas.
Col. Attard is currently the Executive Director of MaltaPost plc.

Claudia Taylor East
Claudia is one of the founders and a board member of SOS Malta, a NGO established in 1991. She was executive chairman of the Malta Hospice Movement spearheading the development of Palliative Care services in Malta.
She has led various voluntary missions to Albania, Kosovo, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Uganda offering humanitarian assistance during emergency phases contributing to the enhancement of Malta’s reputation in the field of international solidarity.
Her personal commitment to extensive community and philanthropic activities contributes and creates all kinds of partnerships that underlie a truly civil society.

John de Giorgio
John is a tech entrepreneur having founded Shireburn Software in 1983 and lead the company through many technology phases.
He has been a Rotarian for nearly 25 years and served on the Rotary International Leadership Development committee between 2020 and 2024, chairing the committee in the final year.
He was also the District Governor of Rotary District 2110, Sicily and Malta in 2017/18.
